Eric is medtech veteran with more than 35 years of experience, including in-depth knowledge of endovascular and minimally invasive devices. Known for finding smart solutions, he is a named inventor on 30 U.S. patents in multiple applications. Eric was recently named Senior Vice President of Aptyx after the acquisition of the Charlotte, N.C., facility of Medical Murray, which develops and produces catheter-based interventional products and transcatheter implants. At Medical Murray, Eric served for more than 10 years as Chief Technology Officer then President. He led the company’s technology and strategic objectives while also supporting the research and development of new complex catheters and transcatheter implants. Eric’s career has included roles in both development and production. Adept in both areas, he has a track record of helping companies transition from early stage design and development to production at scale. Previously, Eric was Vice President of R&D at Altura Medical (acquired by Lombard Medical) where he led the design and development of the novel Altura Endograft System for treating AAA. Other key roles include leading the development of the Micrus Endovascular Microcoil System (acquired by Johnson & Johnson) and building production of Gore covered stent graft systems from the ground up. Eric holds an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley; an MS in Materials Engineering from San Jose State University; and a BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa.
