Dr. Horn-Ranney has led Tympanogen since its inception, winning national and international accolades for Tympanogen's disruptive eardrum repair technology. She is passionate about improving healthcare through novel devices and simplified procedures, and possesses a robust knowledge of biomaterials and synthesizing materials for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. Dr. Horn-Ranney has secured millions of dollars in federal grant funding and private investment to bring Tympanogen's eardrum repair device (Perf-Fix) through conception and into production and clinical studies. The commercial launch of Perf-Fix represents Tympanogen's first milestone toward transforming ear, nose, and throat procedures into office procedures. Dr. Horn-Ranney received both her BSE and PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Tulane University. She serves on multiple boards, reviews grants for the National Institutes of Health, and is active in the entrepreneurial community of Virginia.
